Glycolic Acid 10% Peel

What is Glycolic Acid?

This peel offers visible clarity after just one use, and a smoother more even texture. It works by loosening the bond of the old, dead skin on your face.You may experience some redness immediately after using the product but this will soon fade. You skin may also feel slightly itchy after a treatment, this is perfectly normal as it’s the skin regenerating itself.

Glycolic Acid has been recogn1ised in particular at higher strengths to stimulate your skin to produce more collagen. Collagen is the main structural protein of the skin and keeps it elastic, and wrinkle free; when collagen begins to decrease, your skin begins to sag and wrinkle. Boosting the collagen that your skin has lost with age can help diminish crow’s feet around the eyes, frown lines, and vertical lines around the lips.

Glycolic Acid has been known to help the following conditions

• Acne
• Sun damaged skin
• Enlarged Pores
• Blotchy pigmentation, Hyperpigmentation (this product won’t help chloasma, melasma or vitiligo)
• Reduce the appearance and depth of fine lines and wrinkles
• Discolouration
• Dry skin
• Keratosis Pilaris
• Age Spots
• Exfoliate and brighten the skin.

How is this good for spots, blackheads and enlarged pores? The most common form of acne is caused as hair follicles get clogged by dead skin cells and sebum – the oil your skin naturally produces. Bacteria multiply within the clogged pores and so spots and blackheads form. By removing the dead skin cells you are also removing the grime and excess oil that’s blocking up the pores and exposing fresh, new skin that can breathe.

How does it reduce scars and wrinkles? When new layers of skin grow they are following the pattern, or memory of the skin above them, so if you have wrinkles in your skin that is the memeory the new skin is following. By removing the top1 layers of skin daily you are reducing that memory and so the wrinkles become less visible, slowly over time. Using this peel every week means you are consistently boosting collagen and renewing and regenerating the skin.

No topical treatments can reverse deep scarring but regular use of the Glycolic Acid 10% peel will help to make your skin smoother, and the scars appear softer.

How to apply ? The peel is left on for 2-7 minutes (remember to time it accurately).On first application, we advise keeping the product on for no longer than 2 minutes and then following through with a thorough rinse and wash off with cold water. It is normal to experience some tingling, a sense of itchiness and a mild sting when the product is applied. You may experience some redness but this will soon fade. Your skin may also feel slightly itchy after a treatment, this is perfectly normal as the skin is regenerating itself.

Do I need a neutraliser? Our 10% formula has been designed so that no separate neutraliser is needed, you simply rinse it off with cold water.

If you’re worried about having sensitive skin you may find that you can still use this product, however we strongly advise you to take a patch test first, or opt for the the Lactic Acid peel. If you are on medication, consult your doctor before use.

DO NOT USE If you are undergoing any kind of intense beauty treatment (microdermabrasion, chemical peel, Glycolic acid treatment, Retin-a, laser therapy etc), if you have any broken veins/capillaries or if you’re on medication which increases the skins sensitivity such as (but not limited to) roaccutane and for 12 months after your course has been completed. People who commonly have cold sores may find that chemical peels can cause an outbreak of cold sores and may want to take their medication before use or avoid use altogether, do not apply Glycolic acid to your skin while you have an active cold sore.

INGREDIENTS: Distilled Water, denatured alcohol, Glycolic Acid, Mandarin essential oil, Glycerin.

This product may increase your skin’s sensitivity to the sun and particularly the possibility of sunburn. Use a sunscreen and limit strong sun exposure while using this product and for a week afterwards. Do not use sunbeds while using products containing Glycolic acid, Lactic acid, or Salicylic acid.
